The National Media Museum’s IMAX cinema is one of only four UK cinemas showing Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol - An IMAX 3D Experience five days ahead of its general release. The exclusive giant IMAX screenings start on Wednesday 21 December, five days before the highly anticipated fourth instalment of Paramount Pictures’ Mission Impossible series appears in other cinemas in the region

In another IMAX exclusive the National Media Museum is the only cinema in the region, and one of only four UK venues, to screen a six-minute prologue of the next Batman film by director Christopher Nolan and starring Christian Bale. A sequence from The Dark Knight Rises (due for release in summer 2012) will be shown at the beginning of every Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol screening at the National Media Museum.

In Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, Tom Cruise returns in the starring role as Ethan Hunt and is joined by an international cast that includes Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg, Paula Patton, Michael Nyqvist, Vladimir Mashkov, Josh Holloway, Anil Kapoor and Léa Seydoux.

Blamed for the terrorist bombing of the Kremlin, IMF operative Ethan Hunt is disavowed along with the rest of the agency when the President initiates “Ghost Protocol.” Left without any resources or backup, Ethan must find a way to clear his agency’s name and prevent another attack. To complicate matters further, Ethan is forced to embark on this mission with a team of fellow IMF fugitives whose personal motives he does not fully know.

Experience this epic adventure on the only giant IMAX screen in Yorkshire, five days before general release in the UK. IMAX takes cinema to colossal proportions.
