The Widescreen Weekend 2010 is lining up to be yet another informative, entertaining and interesting line up of events and screenings, which will further enhance the vision of wide gauge cinema. Thanks to the dedicated cooperation and foresight of our sponsors, this festival strand continues to go from strength to strength and over the coming weeks, you'll see more titles announced until the widescreen weekend is once again finalised.

As next year introduces a new decade, the Widescreen Weekend will launch itself with an obvious title - 2010 (70mm). This is director Peter Hyams' impressive sequel to Stanley Kubrick's now classic science fiction spectacular, 2001: A Space Odyssey.
2010 will also be the festival's first time out with a 30th anniversary screening in 70mm of Randal Kleiser's The Blue Lagoon, starring Brooke Shields and Christopher Atkins
