BAF Kids gives children and families the opportunity to catch the latest animated films from around the globe, see the work of up and coming young animators, and be inspired by our animation workshops.

Lego Animation Workshop
Join professional Animator Jack Lockhart as he shows you how to bring your favourite Lego characters to life before you get to play the part of the director and create your very own animated movie.

14-year-old Sho discovers Arrietty, a tiny 'borrower' who lives in a tiny house beneath the floorboards and who borrows things from the adult world. A magical adaptation of Mary Norton's children's classic The Borrowers by Studio Ghibli.

Mini Moving Drawings Workshop
Bring your drawings to life using the art of animation to transform one object into another, you can also get a little help from famous animator Joanna Quinn.

Unravel Workshop
Get creative and produce a collaborative animation by painting, scratching and drawing directly onto 16mm celluloid film, contributing to this touring project that has visited over 70 communities in Britain in the last year.

Unravel Screening
Last year, we hosted a workshop in the creation of Unravel – the longest hand painted film in Britain, where the public were invited to paint, scratch and directly manipulate 16mm film. This screening is an edited version of the film.
