Olivier Assayas is one of the most exciting filmmakers working anywhere in the world today. His films combine the best traditions of French films with an ever-shifting, thrillingly global outlook. Mr Assayas will receive the festival’s Fellowship Award.
Born in the East End in 1937, Barbara Windsor has been an irrepressible and ever-lively presence in films, theatre and television for more than 50 years. Ms. Windsor will receive the festival’s Lifetime Achievement award.
Ray Winstone is an unmistakable and hugely charismatic screen actor, and a Special Guest at this year’s festival. We will reflect on Mr. Winstone’s career in our retrospective, which spans more than 30 years and a number of distinctive and powerful films.
