Britain in Pictures at The National Media Museum

White Room
20 November – 2 March 2008

BBC

As part of the Britain in Pictures project, viewers were invited to submit pictures of their favourite British buildings. They have created an online gallery of over 20,000 images on the picture sharing website Flickr. All the pictures can now be seen at www.bbc.co.uk/britain.

The most popular 1000 images were shown to a panel of professional photographers who appeared in the original TV series on BBC Four. The selection of their 20 favourite images now forms this new exhibition at the museum.

The photographers on the selection panel were Emily Allchurch, Tom Ang, Suki Dhanda, Sam Faulkner, Jill Furmanovsky, Martine Hamilton Knight, Finlay MacKay, Mike Perry, Karina Sutherland and Nick Wood.

All exhibition credits and captions appear exactly as they do online and photographers often use ‘screen names’ in place of their real names.

This exhibition has been a partnership project between the National Media Museum and the BBC.
