Sergei Eisenstein was the most famous of the pioneering 1920s filmmakers and in many ways his ideas were the most complex and the most radical. Including a screening of the 1925 Battleship Potemkin , this Study Day will place his films in the broader contexts of Soviet and Silent cinema, but also look at how their influence can still be seen in contemporary cinema.
