What was once the 'Cradle of Civilisation' is now the location of many international news stories on TV. But what is daily life really like in that amorphous region that might stretch as far as from Iran to Morocco and from Istanbul to Cairo?

In this course we look at a group of very different films that go behind the news to discover the 'other stories', about how people live their lives and how they see themselves.
