Radcliffe is Arthur Kipps, a young solicitor summoned to a remote coastal town to tie up the estate of an elderly widow. Working alone in her old mansion, Kipps becomes increasingly uneasy as he realises that the local town is a repository of tragic secrets, and that a vengeful force – the Woman in Black – is terrorising the fearful community. Uncovering the awful story behind this, his panic rises as local children start disappearing; and when those closest to him are threatened, he must try to break the cycle of terror.
