We are very pleased to announce some exciting changes to how we bring you Film at its best at the National Media Museum. From the end of October, the Museum will be in partnership with the Picturehouse national cinema group. This new enterprise – Picturehouse at National Media Museum – will see Picturehouse Cinemas taking over the operation of the Museum’s three screens – Pictureville, described by Lord Puttnam as ‘The best cinema in the world’, Cubby Broccoli Cinema and Europe’s first IMAX screen. This is fantastic news for you and the National Media Museum as it will ensure the long-term sustainability of our cinemas here in Bradford – UNESCO’s first City of Film.
It will ensure that we can bring you more great films on the date of release, stream more live events, and invest in our technology and facilities to give an even better experience.
It also means the Museum Membership Scheme, which offered discounts on cinema tickets, is now closed to new registration, however Picturehouse Cinemas offer their own national membership scheme which gives discounts on tickets and more. Full details about how to become a member of Picturehouse at National Media Museum will be available here very soon.
If you are a current Museum Member you’ll continue to receive the membership benefits due to you as part of the National Media Museum scheme for the full 12 months from the date you joined. However after that, your membership with the National Media Museum will cease and you will be invited to join the Picturehouse at National Media Museum membership scheme to continue to receive great discounts and much more.
We would like to thank you for your support of the National Media Museum over the years – it has made an enormous difference to the museum and is greatly appreciated. We hope you will continue visiting the Museum and our cinemas for a long time to come, and if you’d like to know more about the changes taking place please take a look at our FAQs.
