   My Class Photograph, 1930
This is my class photograph taken in 1930. I'm standing third from the left, on the back row. School life was good, but very strict. If you did anything silly you would be sent to the headmaster, and sometimes you would get caned. I didn't get into too much trouble, no more than most, but I did get caned a few times. I never told my parents about it though - I would have got into even more trouble! |
| We
used to live near to a park called Peel Park, they had galas there
in the summer, which were wonderful. They always had a hot air balloon,
and lots of other things to see. They had tall towers, which people
used to dive off into big tanks of water. The towers would be hundreds
of feet tall! They had pageants as well, and people used to dress
up as Vikings and Roman Soldiers, and march around! |
