This is a picture of Ernest - one of my brother-in-laws. He was killed in the war, in France. He'd only been married for a year and he got killed straight away. Herbert, my husband, also went to France. He was wounded twice, once in the foot and once in the thigh. Each time he was sent home to recover. He received three medals from the war, and was promoted to Corporal. |
