Youth Media TV

WELCOME

For the past 8 years the National Media Museum has been running TV studio workshops for socially and educationally disadvantaged young people. Young people have been making programme in a broadcast TV studio, operating cameras, vision and sound mixers, and have been presenting to camera. They have been able to take away a DVD of their programme in which they have talked about the issues that affect them.

  • Their City
  • Youth Identity
  • Taking Responsibility
  • Violence and Extremism
  • Community Cohesion

They have had a fantastic and unique experience and have been able to use their DVDs that they have produced as part of project evaluations.

"The pupils were able to achieve during the project and this helped to boost their self-esteem and confidence." Trevor Loft, Head of Aireview Pupil Referral Unit.

The Youth Media TV staff delivering the workshops have a proven track-record of working with young people excluded from mainstream education or at risk of offending behaviour. For more information about this project please contact Sarah Mumford: sarah.mumford@nationalmediamuseum.org.uk
