Welcome
The National Museum of Photography, Film & Television is proud to present the thirteenth edition of the UK's longest-running and biggest animation festival. Host to screentalks, workshops and special events led by some of the industry's top names, the Festival's high point is the annual BAF Awards, which celebrate the very best in new animation from around the world.
Confirmed guests for 2006 so far include Joanna Quinn, Dave Burgess from Dreamworks Animation, Andreas Hykade, Marc Craste and Chris Shepherd. If that's not enough to whet your appetite BAF06 will also be hosting a special tribute to Paul Berry, showing a sneak preview of Suzie Templeton's, Peter & the Wolf, taking a retrospective look at the work of Halas and Batchelor and commercial animation comes under the spotlight with an all-star discussion panel.
Further plans for 2006 include an expanded awards ceremony, the continuation of last year's successful focus on video games and a new 'mini-festival' centred solely around animation for children. All this in addition to previews of the new Channel 4 Animator In Residence films, Alan Gilbey's quiz night, a plethora of inspiring hands-on workshops and some of the best parties of the year reinforces BAF's reputation as Britain's biggest celebration of animation.
