Schools Event: Aardman Animation + Peter and the Wolf

The art of stop-frame model animation is explored with a special talk from Aardman Animation's Will Becher and an exclusive preview of the amazing new Peter and the Wolf film. Tickets: £2 per student, teachers go free.
About Will Becher
After graduating from Edinburgh College of Art, Will worked at Aardman Animation and was one of the lead animators on the Oscar-winning, Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit . Will is currently working on a new series of Creature Comforts and directing his own short-film, The Weatherman , as part of the Channel 4/NMPFT Animator in Residence scheme.
Family Event: Children's Award + Peter and the Wolf

Stop-Frame Model Animation Workshops

Animation guru, Louise Spraggon leads two workshops that let you get hands-on with stop-frame animation. You'll also be able to take a DVD of your work home with you. Suitable for 9 - 13 year olds. Cost: £10
Free WOW Academy Workshop
Saturday 18 November 2006, 11am, meet in the Museum Foyer
The workshop is designed to be interesting and fun. You will explore the new technology within the WOW Academy and by the end of the workshop you will have a better understanding of the knowledge and skills required to develop material for the digital and creative media industry.
The workshop will involve designing games, making 3D images, recording movement with motion capturing equipment and creating a one-minute animation on videotape.
Workshop duration: 1 hour
