Pictureville Cinema opened in 1992. Described by David Puttnam as the best cinema in Britain, Pictureville Cinema screens everything from 70mm to video; from Hollywood to Bollywood; from silents to digital sound, including the new Dolby EX system. It is the only permanent, regularly programmed Cinerama installation in europe and a magnet for enthusiasts, worldwide.

Named
in memory of Cubby Broccoli, the producer of the James
Bond films, this is our new cinema that complements Pictureville
Cinema and provides depth to many of our film seasons.
As well as full digital sound and 35mm, 16mm and video,
the Cinema can also be used as a preview facility for
filmmakers and for small conferences.
The IMAX cinema, housed by the National Media Museum uses 70mm
film, the world's largest stock. Each frame is ten times
larger than a regular 35mm film frame and when projected,
the screen image is bigger than the human field of vision.
The National Media Museum can now show the latest 3D IMAX films alongside
classic 2D material.

The museum’s conference suite, On Location (85 seats) is used predominantly for workshops and masterclasses.
