What's On

Widescreen Weekend 2006

BFF2006's Widescreen Weekend welcomes all those fans of large format and widescreen films to the NMPFT for our annual generous helping of 70mm and Cinerama. We are delighted to be able to screen a brand new 70mm print of South Pacific and archive prints of The Fall of the Roman Empire , Doctor Zhivago , Windjammer , The Bible and that perennial favourite How the West was Won . We will once again present our popular collection of rare oddments in Cineramacana and there will be a chance to catch rare screenings of The Golden Head and Fortress of Peace . Special events will include a unique screening of Zulu in the presence of members of the cast and crew. Guests this year include widescreen pioneer Dick Vetter and historian Richard Gray as well as our own veteran (and popular) projectionist Tony Cutts who, in 2006, celebrates 50 years in the projection box. Congratulations Tony – you truly are a man with staying power! Bill Lawrence
