Ulster. Twelve-year-old Cregan is running from his house. Arriving at his older brother’s home, he witnesses an event that forces him to face up to the realities of coming of age in an extreme world. An edgy, unsettling drama about the lingering nastiness of sectarian violence, Cregan is a throwback to urban social realist gloom with a tremendous group performance by the ensemble cast. Extremely watchable.
