One Hundred and One Dalmations added to the BAF programme

There's a last minute addition to the programme on Saturday which you won't find in our brochure.

Disney's One Hundred and One Dalmations will be screening at 18.00 on Saturday 12 November, the perfect end to our BAF family strand, BAF Kids.

This screening also ties in nicely with the release of Fraser McLean's new book The Art and Evolution of Animation Layout. Fraser will be here on Saturday at 17.30 during BAFter hours signing copies of his new book.

Ray Harryhausen's Fantasy Scrapbook giveaway

Superblogger Students set to Blog their way to Millions

We've selected 3 bloggers from Bradford College to help us bring you all the news and reviews from the festival next week.

Zara Hussain, Alison Smith and Ayesha Farrooqur will be reporting on the events they witness first hand during the festival, offering analysis, background and commentary on newsworthy topics, including revealing online who the winners of the Bradford College animation competition will be.

World Premiere of new Don Hertzfeldt short film 'It's Such a Beautiful Day' confirmed

We are delighted to announce we will be screening the World Premiere of the new Don Hertzfeldt short film. It's Such a Beautiful Day is the third and final chapter in a trilogy about a mysterious man named Bill.

Chapter One, Everything Will Be OK, won the Sundance Film Festival's Jury Award in Short Filmmaking, and Chapter Two, I Am So Proud of You, received twenty-seven awards.

Nearly two years in the making, the 23-minute It's Such A Beautiful Day is Don's longest, and most ambitious, piece to date. It was captured entirely on an antique 35mm animation stand, one of the last remaining cameras of its kind left in America.

BAF Book Bonanza Part 2: Titan Books donates The Art of Puss in Boots

Our Fast and Furious Cartoon Quiz giftbag is growing by the day and today our friends at Paramount and Titan Books have kindly donated copies of The Art of Puss in Boots. The book is full of incredible concept art and an in-depth look at the development of the story; it takes readers behind the scenes of the award-winning DreamWorks Animation studio, and includes an introduction by Guillermo Del Toro.

Frontier Developments and Unity 3D join BAF Game

Matt Stephenson, Principal Animator on Kinect Disneyland Adventures for Frontier Developments and Olly Nicholson, Technical Developer, Unity 3D are the latest industry heavyweights to be added to the bill for the seventh edition of BAF Game.

They join Brendan McNamara, founder of Team Bondi, Nick Adams, design lead at Blitz Games and Jay Grenier senior technical artist at FacewareTM creators Image Metrics, to headline two days packed full of exciting sessions for individuals working in the industry and fans of gaming. There will also be presentations from Hand Circus, Six to Start, Play with Learning, Ten24 and Game Republic.

Illustrator draws up to BAF

We are delighted to announce that this year's BAF ident has been produced by prolific cartoonist Steven Appleby. Better known for his weekly Guardian cartoon strip Loomus; Steven's other work includes the animated television series Captain Star; the musical play Crocs In Frocks (with Teresa Early & Roger Gosling); and over 20 books, including Mr Concerned's Talking Book of Home Therapy and Jim – the Nine Lives Of A Dysfunctional Cat. Watch out for the animated ident coming your way in late October produced by Steven Appleby and Linda McCarthy.
