Welcome

Bite the Mango 2008 is now open for entries...

Bite the Mango returns for 2008 showcasing the very best cinema from around the world. Host to masterclasses, seminars, screenings and star guest appearances, Bite the Mango is now in its fourteenth year and continues to grow from strength to strength. Deadline for film submissions: Friday 4th July 2008

Since its inauguration in 1995, Bite the Mango Film festival has been growing and defining its identity in the world. Conceived as a festival that would profile the work of black and Asian filmmakers in Britain, it has quickly evolved into a celebration, through film, of cultures around the world. Today the need for us all to understand other cultures is more critical than ever and Bite the Mango is at the forefront of working with other countries and people to find the latest and best of world cinema.

Hosted at the National Media Museum, Bite the Mango brings audiences an impressive collection of the very best cinema from all four corners of the world drawing influences from Africa, South Asia, Central America and the Far East showcasing an eclectic mix of features, shorts and documentaries and a selection of master classes, seminars and workshops delivered by industry professionals providing an exciting and culturally vibrant atmosphere as well as providing an international platform for new and aspiring filmmakers to showcase their work.

Best wishes, Addy Rutter, Festival Director
