Albrecht Tuebke
Albrecht Tuebke is primarily interested in the range of ways that people show their public face. His portraits are undirected - Tuebke simply asks his subjects to stand still and 'present' themselves.
In this selection, we see the variety of roles that dogs play in their owners' lives, functioning as companions, colleagues, even children.
The portrait of the woman dressed in the full-length fur coat is particularly unsettling. She clearly adores her dog, yet finds it acceptable to be dressed from head-to-foot in animal skins.

Untitled, from the series Donna, Italy, 2008
