The first meeting of the Yorkshire Photography Network will include a presentation from Greg Hobson, Curator of Photographs about New Works: Pavilion Commissions 2008. Following the meeting there will be a chance to view the exhibition as well as the Composure HD Short Film Commissions at the Impressions Gallery and The North in Focus at Bradford One Gallery.

Photography is in as strong a position as it ever has been and opportunities for distributing work are numerous, yet exhibition and publication are still seen by many as the pinnacle of artistic achievement. Join Pavilion, the National Media Museum and Pavilion Commissions 2008 artists for a panel discussion investigating trends in contemporary photography and, how we might consider alternative methods of presentation and consumption.

Portfolio Review Day

In collaboration with Pavilion, the National Media Museum is hosting a photographers' portfolio day. The line-up of reviewers includes artists from the New Works: Pavilion Commissions 2008, as well as Pavilion and National Media Museum staff. They will offer you their personal views, guidance and advice on how to develop your practice. Sessions are limited to two reviewers per entrant and must be booked in advance. Each session will last 25 minutes.
