Fantastic Films Weekend 24-25 May 2003
In Pictureville no-one can hear you scream

Welcome to the second Fantastic Films Weekend - 48 hours of fear-filled movies and television from the dark and cobwebbed vaults of the NMPFT. Once again, in collaboration with the annual Manchester-based Festival of Fantastic Films, Bradford is home to an array of extraterrestrials, talking apes, werewolves and apocalyptic survivors.

This year's rare screenings include two stories from sci-fi master Richard Matheson - The Incredible Shrinking Man and The Omega Man - along with Franklin J. Schaffner's spectacular original version of Planet of the Apes, starring Charlton Heston, and Murnau's timeless Nosferatu.

We are delighted to be able to offer a super rare opportunity for fright fans to catch all four Alien movies in one day - with three of them in glorious 70mm. Just how scary can life get?

Finally we hope to be joined by special effects wizard Bob Keen, the man behind the werewolves of Dog Soldiers, and Jonathan Sands, managing director of props archive Weird and Wonderful whose warehouse is packed with everything from alien warriors to 7ft werewolves - one of which will travel with him to Bradford. Both Bob and Jonathan will discuss their unusual jobs prior to a screening of Dog Soldiers.

Feel the fear…
