When junkie Gladki escapes from hospital, Lupa finds him and restrains him in a low rent bedsit in Ljubjana. While he slowly recovers from his addiction, other illnesses take their toll. Meanwhile, Lupa is ensnared in a world of prostitues, drug dealers and junkies debts. In her debut feature film director Slak shows a strong visual sense with a dark claustrophobic story using her lead Manca Dorrer to great effect as a haunted young women trying to do the right thing. Indeed, Dorrer looks like a star for the future, if she can find roles of international significance. Here she is central to almost every scene in the film and is able to carry the extremes of strength in dealing with Gladki in their room and her vulnerability out on the streets. Therer are no highs for any of the characters, nor the audience, just addictions for both that draws the viewer deeper into their world in search of answers.
