An edition of the popular Saturday night variety show hosted by the avuncular bandleader Billy Cotton. The show had its origins on radio and transferred to television first as Saturday Showtime on ITV in 1955 and then as Wakey Wakey on BBC in 1956. This particular edition was broadcast on Christmas Eve and has a pantomime theme, with Eric Sykes as Robin Hood and Hattie Jacques as the Fairy Godmother in Cinderella.
