Simon Roberts beautifully captures a nation at leisure and now it’s your turn to create the perfect picture and have the chance to win an exclusive prize!
Inspired by We English, this holiday season we are asking you to submit a photograph which captures the essence of Yorkshire at leisure.
The competition is open to all. The winning photographs will be selected by Greg Hobson, Curator of Photographs at the National Media Museum to be displayed on the museum website.
If you are the lucky winner of the Under 16 age category, you will win an exclusive VIP day at the Museum for you and three friends. Your visit will include a film on Yorkshire’s only IMAX screen, an exclusive photography workshop, lunch in the café, and a great goody bag!
Or as the winner of the 16 and over age category, you will receive an incredible limited edition print of the Simon Roberts photograph of Bradford commissioned by the National Media Museum and a signed copy of the acclaimed We English book.

Terms and Conditions
- The competition is open to all ages. There are two age categories.
- Your photograph must capture Yorkshire and outdoor leisure time.
- Only one photograph per entrant. All submissions must be accompanied by a completed entry form. Competition entry forms are available online or can be collected in person from the We English exhibition.
- Entrants under 16 must submit an entry form signed by a parent or guardian.
- We cannot accept files larger than 1 MB.
- The competition runs from 1st July to 4.00pm 5th September 2010. Entries submitted after this time will not be counted.

- Closing date for entries is 4pm on 5th September 2010. Entries submitted after this time will not be counted.
- VIP trip including photography workshop will take place on a weekend in September 2010, the date of which is to be confirmed.
- Winner of the children’s VIP day at the National Media Museum may invite 3 guests to join them for their VIP day at the museum. Under 16 year olds must be accompanied by an adult.
- The winners will be announced in September 2010.
- The judges’ decision is final.
- The prize is non transferable and there is no cash alternative available.
- Travel and accommodation not included for the VIP visit.
- Entries submitted may be used for the National Media Museum publicity purposes.
- Winners may be required to attend a press call.
